gadg·et n -- ingenious device: a small device that performs or aids a simple task |
Gadgets -- once the powertool of the geek, now has becomes mainstream. I don't have a massive collection of gadgets, but here are the few in my personal collection:
Canon
Powershot S230
Digital Camera
Obtained: February 2003
Use: Taking digital photos -- especially for Imagery
Comment: Great camera, although now succeeded by the S400.
Special thanks to the Windows Messenger Dev Team for buying me this. |
Casio
EM-500 (Sky Blue)
PocketPC
Obtained: 2000
Memory: 16 MB
OS: PocketPC (2000)
Processor: MIPS 150Mhz
Use: Mainly used for listening to music using separate Casio
remote/earphones (which works with Pocket Windows Media Player)
Comment: Awesome screen, but unfortunately becomes useless
outdoors. |
Rio
300
MP3 Player
Obtained: 1999
Memory: 32 MB
Use: Currently not used but originally for listening to music
Comment: The player that started it all -- unfortunately plagued
by a faulty battery door (continues to be debated on
). |
StarTAC
7790
Cellular Phone
Obtained: 2000
Network:
Use: To communicate
Comment: Unfortunately this phone is really outdated -- battery
life, reception, and features aren't really up to today's standards (ie.
incoming SMS only). Although it can make use of the various
Motorola "testmode" functions. |
Viewsonic
V37
PocketPC
Obtained: 2003
Memory: 64 MB
OS: PocketPC 2002 Premium Edition
Processor: XScale 400Mhz
Use: Primarily used as a main PDA (contacts, etc.) but may become
a music device in the future
Comment: Screen isn't as good as the older Casio PocketPCs, but
very thin. |
